Robert Payne

Bob Payne has been involved with Canada’s airline and aviation industry over the course of a forty-year career that has spanned all sectors of the industry and all geographic locations in the country.  His industry focus was primarily in Finance and Management, including M&A activity but also with involvement in Board and Investor Relations along with Ecommerce, IT, Human Resources and new airline startups.

He began his aviation career with Austin Airways; spending 8 years based in Timmins, Ontario.  A truly unique experience which emphasized the importance of aviation to Canada’s north and followed this with 2 years in Toronto involved with the financing of original 50 Aircraft D8 100 order from Bombardier by Canada’s regional airlines.  This was followed 8 years in London with Air Ontario.  Mr. Payne was then involved with starting up Diamond Aircraft in London before being recruited by Air Canada to move to Vancouver to integrate Air BC into the Air Canada network.  Following the integration of the Air Canada regional airlines into Jazz,

Mr. Payne then worked in both Vancouver and Montreal focusing on the evolution of IT and Ecommerce in the industry.  Then with the creation of Porter Airlines at BBTCA, Mr. Payne was asked to assist with the startup and management of one of Canada’s premier regional airlines.
