Michael Michaud
Mike Michaud joined the IMP Aerospace team as the Director of Rotary Wing Programs in September 2012, following a diverse 26-year career with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). He was promoted to the role of Senior Director, Canadian Programs in April 2013, as Vice President Production in April 2015 and to his current role of Executive Vice-President in July 2020.
Mike’s extensive RCAF background includes multiple tours of duty in flight test and aircraft maintenance operations. His active flight test experience included tours as the Officer in Charge of Fighter/Trainer Evaluations and Officer Commanding, Evaluation Support Squadron/Senior Flight Test Engineer at Canada’s Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment in Cold Lake, Alberta. In the maintenance operations role, Mike was employed supporting CH124 Sea King helicopter operations, first as the Aircraft Servicing Officer at HT406 Squadron and then as the Squadron Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Officer at 423(MH) Squadron, both based in Shearwater, Nova Scotia.
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mike is a graduate of the former Technical University of Nova Scotia in Mechanical Engineering and holds Master’s degrees in both Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Systems from The University of Tennessee. A registered Professional Engineer and Qualified Flight Test Engineer, he is also an alumnus of the United States Naval Test Pilot School in Patuxent River, Maryland and the two-year German Joint Admiral and General Staff Officers Course at the Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr, Hamburg, Germany.
Mike has two wonderful daughters, Emily (24) and Anne-Marie (22) and he and his partner Heather reside in Dartmouth, NS.
