John Green

John Green has more than 30 years work experience in the aviation industry.  John obtained his private licence in the last year of high school and his commercial licence during his first year of attending the University of Manitoba.  From 1991 through to 1995 John flew summers for his father on a variety of classic Canadian bush aircraft including the Noorduyn Norseman (on floats), Beech 18 (on floats), and the de Havilliand Beaver and single Otter (both floats and skis).  In 1995 John completed his Commerce Degree and returned to Red Lake full time. Working alongside his father John served as Chief Pilot and built a solid foundation for pilot training and a keen interest in the business side of aircraft operation.

John obtained his instrument rating and moved on to fly for Bearskin Airlines out of Sioux Lookout, Ontario from 1997-1998.  In 1998 he was hired by Canadian Regional Airlines to fly the Fokker-28 based in Calgary, Alberta.  In 2001 John transitioned to Canadian North Airlines becoming a Fokker 28 Captain.  During his tenure at Canadian North he held several positions including training/check pilot and Chief Pilot.  In 2008 he transitioned to the role of Director Commercial Flight Operations and Charters where his responsibilities included the business and operational facets of Flight Operations and responsibility for the Charter Business Unit.  In 2011 John transitioned to Senior Director of Operations where he oversaw all operational aspects of the airline including Airports, Maintenance, Cabin Safety and Flight Operations.  During his tenure at Canadian North John stayed active as a Captain on the Fokker 28, Fokker 100 and then transitioned to the Boeing 737-200.

In 2012, John moved to North Cariboo Air as Vice-President Operations and Charters, eventually taking over General Manager responsibilities in 2016 through to current day.  As General Manager and Vice-President Operations at North Cariboo Air John is responsible, in conjunction with other senior leaders, for determining the strategic direction of the company in addition to his duties overseeing the daily aircraft operation.

In November of 2021, John was elected to the Board of Directors of the Air Transport Association of Canada, where he has taken an active role in several working committees.
