Robert Bailey

Robert Bailey was trained in art at Longton Art School in Staffordshire, England, during the 1960's. His career includes shooting television commercials during the 70's and hosting a children's television show at CHBC TV in Kelowna, B.C. He went on to journalism and photography for The Calgary Herald and then into aviation art. It is in the latter genre for which he was known for the following twenty years. Most of his lithographs bear the original signatures of pilots and groundcrews for many fighter and bomber squadrons from WWII. Amongst these were Luftwaffe, Canadian, American and British signees. In 1998 movie guru George Lucas invited Robert to enter the world of Star Wars, which Robert has been doing ever since. His pencil drawings are collected by such stars as John Travolta, Carrie Fisher, Linda Hamilton, Henry Winkler and many others.

Robert did the portraits for our annual inductees from 2014 to 2018.
